On 15/12/1968 an own air base of Interior Ministry was opened to support the safety and executive for major emergencies in Hohenems. Prior Vorarlberg was "jointly supplied" from Innsbruck, but always caused problems, because the Arlberg proved insurmountable hurdle in bad weather.

On 02.08.1986 the air base to the base of the Ministry of Interior - ambulance helicopter Martin 8. After 14 years and 6,759 missions the Christophorus flight rescue association with Christopher 8 took over, the emergency helicopter service on 1 January 2001for Vorarlberg under an assistance agreement with the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Now the air base Hohenems met again - as in 1986 - its original purpose as a branch of the Ministry of Interior for the executive and as a support in the event of a disaster. After two "transitional neighborhoods" of the new Base Heliport Vorarlberg, Vorarlberg air ambulance in Nenzing (Bludenz) was put into operation in December 2006.

The new helicopter base, whose 1,080-square-foot landing platform was buildt eight meters above the ground, the quality and safety of Vorarlberg air ambulance could be optimized again. For the organization and operation of the state's mountain rescue 8 Christopher is responsible.

2.The scenery

The scene is based on a scenery for FSX, which was converted by Kay J. for X-Plane. This has been added using the original object for the base with newly created objects.

The scenery includes night textures and realistic lighting (X-Plane 10, 11 only).

Unfortunately not available, but the in the scenery is a picture where the VASI-based approach is presented.

4.Installation

Just copy the folder "LOJN Chr8 Nenzing 2.0" in the compressed file after unpacking in the "Custom Scenery" - folder

directory structure:

          Earth nav data and others

and restart X-Plane.

5.Recommended settings

To visualize all light effects, HDR should be activated. The higher the settings for "texture resolution" and "airport detail" the better the quality of the scenery but the more affect on the FPS ratio.
