1.The Original

Klagenfurt Airport (also Carinthia Airport or Alpe-Adria Airport, IATA code: KLU, ICAO Code: LOWK) is an international airport in Carinthia, Austria.
It is located about 4 km from the center of Klagenfurt in the north of the state capital to 448 m above sea level. The owner of the Carinthian airport mbH are the province of Carinthia (80%) and the city Klagenfurt am Wörthersee (20%).

The airport is located about 4 km north of the Klagenfurt city center and extends over the Klagenfurt city districts Annabichl and St. Peter. The apron is located on approximately 448 müa. The approach from the west takes place just above the residential area of the city parts Annabichl and Wölfnitz, from the east largely via industry area.

2.The Scenery

This scenery is based on the work of "Wachter" (1.2) at X-Plane.org

I have expanded and supplemented the scenery, so that online-flying (eg: at VATSIM) and offline flying is possible with the X-Plane's ATC. The ground textures and forests facilitate the VFR approach. The Ramps are defined in accordance with the Ground chart of VACC-Austria (link: see Readme.txt), although no real fixed positions are used, but the aircraft will be instructed by Marshal.

For version 1.4, our Member "merlin" added the ÖAMTC-Base LOMU that lies between the runway and the highway.

The version 2.0 was adapted to XP11 and extended by the XP Ground Services.

In version 3.5 we integratet SAM-Season to make flying at wintertime nicer.

Charts

can be found at http://www.vacc-austria.org/?page=content/airportinfo&icao=LOWK. Using this information, the parking positions and taxiways were built in the scene, so that it shall be no problems in online flying.

4.Installation

Simply copy the folder "LOWK Klagenfurt 3.5" in the compressed file after unpacking it into the "Custom Scenery" folder.

and restart X-Plane.

5.Recommended Settings

In order to see the light effects included, HDR should be turned on. The higher the settings in "texture resolution" and "airport detail" the better the representation of the scenery, but also the impact on the "frames per second" is higher.

7.Release Notes for X-Plane 9

Unfortunately some functions of the scenery must be disabled for X-Plane 9 and therefore it will not look like on the pictures which where taken with X-Plane 10.25.
